WHAT TO EXPECT AT YOUR CONSULTATION
Your one-on-one consultation with one of our cosmetic surgeons is often considered the most important part of getting your ideal results. During your consultation, you will be able to talk with your surgeon about the details of your liposuction procedure, including your appearance goals and concerns.
Our surgeons typically cover a range of topics during a consultation:
-
Your Candidacy
Ensuring that you are a good candidate for liposuction is the first step in reaching your goal figure. Factors such as your BMI and your lifestyle may come into consideration.
-
Your Goals
Your surgeon will listen to your appearance goals and explain how liposuction may be able to help. They will help you decide if the procedure is right for you or whether a different approach might be best.
-
Your Preferences
While liposuction may seem like a simple procedure, there are a number of liposuction options to take into consideration when planning your surgery, including the areas of your body that you would like to slim down. Your surgeon will also describe the results you can realistically expect.
-
Additional Procedures
While liposuction is a popular standalone procedure, not everyone will have their goals met by liposuction alone. Your surgeon may recommend additional procedures like a thigh lift, arm lift or tummy tuck, depending on your deal outcome. Women who have completed their families often choose a combination of liposuction and breast enhancement for their mommy makeover.
-
Liposuction Costs
Our staff will give you a detailed estimate of your liposuction costs, including the surgical fee, the use of the surgical facility and anesthesia-related charges. You will also receive information on cosmetic surgery financing options to make your liposuction procedure as affordable as possible.
-
Your Timeline
While you are welcome to schedule your liposuction surgery on a date that works best for you, many men and women plan their surgical date in accordance with a timeline developed by you and your surgeon. Our staff will explain your surgical timeline in more detail, including pre- or post-operative appointments, so you can select a date that works with your existing commitments.
Every individual’s concerns are different, so each consultation will vary. However, you can expect to leave your consultation feeling much more prepared to move forward with your liposuction procedure with confidence.

WHAT TO EXPECT BEFORE SURGERY
Prior to your surgery, your surgeon may ask you to make adjustments to your lifestyle to optimize your outcome. Depending on your age and background, they may ask you to get clearance from your general physician. They may also ask that you adjust any medications or supplements you take. Our surgeons ask that anyone having surgery refrain from smoking for several weeks before the surgical date and for several weeks after to maximize the chances of achieving the best and safest results.
Because liposuction may be performed under general anesthesia depending on the individual, it’s important to arrange for a friend or family member to drive you home following your appointment. It’s also highly recommended that during the first several days of your recovery, you have someone to help you out around the house to minimize any unnecessary stress on your body.
Once your medical and personal preparations are in order, you’re ready for liposuction. Planning your before and after experience is key to ensuring a stress-free surgery and positive recovery.
