So, you’ve had a mommy makeover on your mind for a while. Just one problem — time. The mom life is a busy one, packed tight with work, school, extracurriculars and more. Over the years, we’ve helped plenty of busy moms reach their body goals while balancing surgery with all the roles they juggle. It all comes down to the right prep. Below, we’ve got five tips to make planning a mommy makeover work for you.
With the right approach to mommy makeover prep, you can keep things low stress.
Prep Tip #1: Lean on Friends and Family
After surgery, you need the right support. We know; it’s hard to delegate as a mom. But at least for your surgery and recovery, hang up the super mom cape and let people help you. Set up a schedule with them in advance so everyone knows to plan around their “shifts.”
Prep Tip#2: Get Your Home Ready
While we don’t doubt your home is already cozy, you’ll need to do more to get ready for surgery. Focus on your main recovery spaces to make sure they are easily accessible and all your essentials are easily on hand, without the need to bend or twist to reach them.
Prep Tip #3: Schedule Time off Work
If you can do a home office, you will be able to work from home about a week after your surgery (in most cases, at least). However, if you work in person, schedule 2-3 weeks off from work. Keep in mind heavy lifting is off limits for at least six weeks.
Prep Tip #4: Plan Nourishing Meals
Staying healthy and keeping your energy up is essential. As part of your mommy makeover prep, take time to meal plan for your recovery. Focus on protein, veggies and fruits as a treat to give your body what it needs to heal.
Prep Tip #5: Check off Tasks Now
Whatever you can do before your surgery, get it out of the way. We know some things are time sensitive, but anything that isn’t, handle it in the weeks before your procedure. That way, you’ll better be able to relax.
